I think it is important to be well informed about the current national curriculum to fully understand the current education system, specifically focusing on art and design. I found the difference between KS1 and KS2 was KS1 is given a more open curriculum that could be interpreted in different ways, based on developing key skills such as drawing and understanding texture. KS2 curriculum seems to be more structured and detailed, asking the children to develop further the skills they have already learnt. There is also the need to create a sketch book so children can review and reflect on their ideas, this is something that will be normal in KS3.
